Altar Guild
Trinity’s Altar Guild fosters a better understanding of our Lutheran worship practices through the dedicated care of the altar linens and paraments, preparation of the elements to be eaten and drunk in Lord’s Supper, the furnishings of the sanctuary, and assisting with seasonal decorations. By adorning God’s house and the services of the church more beautifully, we provide the Gospel a setting which is fitting and appropriate for the worship of the Most Holy Trinity. The members of the Altar Guild help worshippers prepare to receive our Lord’s gifts in Word and Sacrament and reverently offer their praise, prayers, and thanksgiving.
The Altar Guild is open to any member of the congregation who is interested in learning about Lutheran worship and caring for the sanctuary.
Week to week, the chief responsibilities of the Altar Guild are:
- EPreparing the vessels and elements for use in the distribution of the Lord’s Supper
- ELaundering the communion linens
- EChanging the altar paraments
Prayer of Reverence and Faithfulness
and perform our work with reverence and perform out work with such faithfulness and
devotion that it may be acceptable to Thee and obtain Thy blessings; through Jesus Christ,
our Lord, who liveth and reingeth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world
without end.
